The Wines of Pierro and Fire Gully

Another year, another issue, and in this years Issue 15, we really had fun with it. Exploring the vivid Bollywood lifestyle, getting excited about Art on the Menu and not to mention, tasting and trying some of WA’s best food and wine. This year we celebrated the completion of our magazine with beautiful wine from Pierro Margaret River Vineyards and their sister winery, Fire Gully who have always supported us.
The 2011 Chardonnay from Pierro, made from grapes carefully picked from blocks on the banks of the Willyabrup Brook is delicate but complex; with different waves of flavour in your mouth from sip to swallow. Introducing itself with an almost creamy, tropical warmth, it leaves you with a crisp, fresh zing. Beautiful in colour, it almost glows in your glass, not to mention your belly.
The Fire Gully 2010 Shiraz Voignier was a joy. A bit on the spicy side from the peppercorn and liquorice suggestions, but you are quickly soothed by the fruity comforts of plum and cherry flavours. Rich in colour and aroma, the balance between voigner and shiraz is more than pleasant.  A winter warmer if ever there was, this is a fire side must.
