The Sound of Music

SOM-POSTERThis year the Canning Agricultural, Horticultural & Recreational Society obtained the rights to produce ‘The Sound of Music’. In its fifth year, the Society’s Theatre Group – entitled the Canning Show Performance Troupe – joined forces with the Society’s Show Choir to put on this time-honoured musical, and is part of the Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showground’s ‘Act-Belong-Commit Arts & Events Program’ proudly supported by Healthway.
CAHRS members are now well into rehearsals, filling CECS Liddelow Pavillion with dramaturgical antics and song every Thursday night. The production is an amateur showcase, with cast members ranging in various levels of experience. It is a venture that is exciting for all, with door sales injected back into the community to support and encourage local theatre and artistic pursuits for the residents of the south-eastern metropolitan area.
