Forged through fire and shaped in steel, the Midland Railway Workshops were the heartbeat of the Midland community for 80 years. Almost 25 years since tools were downed for the last time, the yards will come alive once again as the City of Swan presents Stoked.
Stoked will pay homage to the legacy of the workshops, the colourful characters who worked within them and the lifelong bonds formed among the rails.
An immersive program celebrating all things fire, metal and handicraft will be brought to life through performance art, hands on interactives and music. Stoked is a journey that will weave the incredible stories of the past with the evolution of the craft in the modern day.
In a nod to the beloved foodery which served the masses across the decades, The Canteen Pop Up bar and eatery will be a central hub at the festival, serving up a modern menu of eats, cocktails and other refreshments with a vintage railyard twist.
