Steak Sandwich Showdown

Voting has commenced in the steak sandwich showdown that stops a nation.
Now in its eleventh year, the 2018 Australian Hotels Association (WA) Steak Sandwich competition has hospitality businesses across WA engaging in a fierce battle to seize the ultimate in bragging rights.
Restaurants, pubs and bars have embraced the contest in record numbers, making 2018 the largest competition to date.
Almost 80 venues will face off across the state, competing to gain the public’s vote and win the prestigious title of WA’s Best Steak Sandwich.
Australian Hotels Association (WA) CEO Bradley Woods said the competition sees hospitality businesses going above and beyond to deliver the ultimate steak sandwich.
“Each year the public vote on this version of the Australian classic steak sandwich and early reports indicate that 2018 will be bigger and better than ever,” Mr Woods said.
“Western Australians are about to be treated to some incredible creations and we encourage people to get out and enjoy these masterpieces over the next four weeks.”
“Expect special sauces, creative garnishes, specialty breads and other surprises as chefs across the state set out to take the prestigious honour of knowing they make WA’s best steak sandwich.”
Voting is open until 18 April, after which four finalists will be chosen from both the regional and metropolitan areas to participate in an epic live steak sandwich cook-off in May.
