anna-polyviouThe Swan Valley’s premier food and wine festival, Entwined in the Valley is back this November 4-6 and will be headlined by ‘Punk Princess of Pastry’ Anna Polyviou.
Hosted by the City of Swan the three-day event brings together a host of top chefs, winemakers and local producers to highlight the delights of the region.
Fans of MasterChef Australia will know Polyviou from this year’s series when contestants had to make an ‘Anna’s Mess’ dessert – a take on the traditional Eton Mess – as a pressure test. The complicated dessert takes a mind boggling 74 steps to create.
The festival’s much loved Entwined Degustation Dinner will take place on November 6 at Mandoon Estate Winery, and guests will be treated to a selection of Polyviou’s sublime desserts including an ‘Anna’s Mess’, as well as dishes from local food superstars Kiren Mainwaring of Co-Op Dining (formerly of Dear Friends), Hadleigh Troy of Restaurant Amusé in East Perth and Michael Hartnell of Mandoon Estate, as part of an expertly prepared seven course menu.
Polyviou will also host an Anna’s Mess Masterclass at Caversham House as part of the Festival.
The talented chef said it will be her first time in Western Australia, and she can’t wait to arrive.
“Enwtined in the Valley is going to be a massive festival. The Swan Valley has got some wicked produce and I’m lucky enough to be creating my creations with that produce in November,” she said.
Polyviou follows in the footsteps of a string of talented chefs who have cooked at the Entwined in the Valley degustation dinner, including Matt Moran and George Calombaris.
City of Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said Entwined in the Valley also celebrates the Swan Valley’s ongoing commitment to supporting the welfare of animals and producing high quality, healthier, tastier food.
“The festival reaffirms the City of Swan’s commitment to being Australia’s first Humane Food region and our partnerships with RSPCA Western Australia, Swan Valley Winemakers, local businesses and producers,” he said.
Mayor Wainwright said Entwined in the Valley was a real treat for food and wine lovers and was getting bigger and better every year.
“There’s so much good food and wine in the Swan Valley and we invite people to come and discover it. We’ll be showcasing wine, beer, food, art, entertainment, and culture over three glorious fun filled days.”
Located just 25 minutes from the bustling Perth city centre, the Swan Valley is home to an ever growing list of talented chefs, winemakers, brewers, artists, chocolatiers and honey and nougat producers.
