screen-shot-2016-12-22-at-10.36.22-amWhile most of us are busy preparing for Christmas, thousands more are wondering if they will have enough food for themselves and their family.
When you donate to Foodbank this Christmas, you will be helping families like Alison’s:
Alison relies on Foodbank to feed herself and her 9 year old granddaughter. In 2005, Alison was diagnosed with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1, an incurable condition that left her with tumours in every endocrine gland in her body.
Now in remission, she has become grandcarer to her 9-year-old granddaughter and is making ends meet on a disability support pension. Her drastically changed circumstances saw her access support services from Grandparents Rearing Grandchildren, and food assistance from Foodbank is one of those services.

“If you were to see me on the street you wouldn’t think I relied on Foodbank. Foodbank isn’t just for the homeless, it’s for people like me who for one reason or another are financially challenged,” said Alison.
“Foodbank means I can purchase enough food to last the two of us for up to a month. I could never afford to do that at a supermarket. This means I can buy other things for my granddaughter, like a new pair of shoes. And she loves Foodbank too, because our fridge is full of food, so she’s happy and well fed.”
Unfortunately Alison’s story is all too common, so Foodbank needs your help to ensure they have the volume and variety of food needed to provided a decent meal to families in times of crisis.
Every dollar you donate will allow Foodbank to provide two meals, so please give generously.
Thank you for your generosity.
