PeopleSmallHubbles Yard Cafe was built in 1927 as a grocery shop and later a hardware store, before being turned into a café in 2006 by Samantha and Grant Mooney. The Bushells Tea triptych on the far wall is still there today. In April 2016 Hubbles was taken over by Michael Higgs who was head chef at places like Vans, Blue Water and Sunny’s on the Swan. Michael trained at The Perth Hilton’s famous Garden Restaurant in the 80s before moving to London to hone his skills. These days Hubbles likes to be known as a healthy, home-baked, family run business, famous for great breakfasts, vegetarian options, salads and amazing coffee.
