A Festival of Food, Music, Art and Community

Creativity and community go hand in hand at Glastonburys in Northbridge. The bar and kitchen opened at the beginning of September 2025 and is rapidly gaining a reputation as a great place to eat, drink and be merry, enjoy some live music, appreciate the artwork from local artists on the walls (yes, the paintings are for sale), play a game of chess, have a cocktail made to suit your individual taste, or just hang out for a while with a coffee or a beverage.

We dropped in to sample some of the items on the comprehensive menu, which ranges from bar snacks to breakfasts and more substantial lunch, or dinner dishes including pasta, pizza, burgers, salads and mains.

We started off with a bowl of savoury Truffle Arancini with aioli, shaved parmesan and salad leaves, and a plate of Fried Pickles with sriracha mayo, accompanied by a glass of 2024 Serafino Sauvignon Blanc (Adelaide Hills, SA), which offset the sweetness of the pickles and the sweet but fiery mayonaise. The white wine also went well with the Seafood Marinara Linguine, a tasty mix of prawns, mussels, clams, tender squid and pasta with a chilli, tomato and garlic sauce.

Breakfasts are proving to be very popular at Glastonburys and we enjoyed the house speciality of Steak, Egg and Chips – tender porterhouse steak topped with a fried egg, and served with golden crunchy chips, a grilled tomato half, and a jug of delicious gravy. This would make a substantial breakfast, or a decent lunch or dinner. Alongside the steak we also had a fresh Caesar Salad (you can add chicken to this for an extra $4), and a glass of 2022 Serafino Shiraz (Adelaide Hills, SA), a sweet, smooth Shiraz which perfectly suited the steak.

To finish off our meal, we tried the scrumptious Belgian Waffles with berry compote and lemon curd, and a Tiramisu Cocktail – a bit like an espresso martini on steroids, but made with dark rum instead of vodka, Frangelico and fresh coffee.

Glastonburys is open seven days a week and there is always something going on. Sundays are for Chess Club, Tuesday is Songwriters’ night and Wednesday is Music Bingo or Quiz night. There is a happy vibe and plenty of creative energy in the place. Like the Festival which it is named after, it is a celebration of music, history and art. The food is a mixture of eclectic and traditional cuisine, reasonably priced and all dishes can be shared.

Venue Operations Manager Alessio Sanseverilo, told us he spent seven years as a bartender in London, and his passion is creating cocktails. Just tell him what sort of flavour you like and he will make a bespoke cocktail just for you. Alessio’s favourite dishes are the Steak, Egg and Chips or the Steak Sandwich.
