Farmstay Sydney Australia
International visitors to Australia often enter through Sydney, and many don’t get much further than this. They’re keen to explore what Australia has to offer, but they don’t realise that they’re not going to see a kangaroo in the wild on Pitt Street.
Sydney is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and I love living here for that reason, but if you’re looking for those quintessential features of Australia and to meet typical Aussie characters, Sydney is not the place to do it.
That’s why a journey inland is recommended for anyone who wants to really discover the true Australian spirit and meet some Fair Dinkum Aussie folk. Aussie Farmstay and Bush Adventures offers tours which take travellers into the bush, through the Blue Mountains and onto a farm where time has almost stood still for more than 50 years.

Koalas, Kangaroos & Australian Birds
On an Aussie Bush Adventure tour encounters with kangaroos, koalas, colourful Australian birds and reptiles are guaranteed. Fine Australian food and wine can be sampled and purchased whilst exploring the Mudgee region. The natural wonders of the Blue Mountains and Abercrombie Caves are discovered on bush walks and a horse ride. And the history of New South Wales’ rural villages is learnt during visits to some of the region’s towns.
But the highlight of the tours for every passenger is the overnight stay on an historic sheep farm in the hills outside of the NSW village of Eugowra. Wilf Norris purchased the property of Inglevale in 1954 to establish his family with his wife Pat. And that he did. But he also established a lifestyle which is the envy of many of those stuck in the rat race of modern living. When the farmers around Wilf adopted the use of tractors, Wilf happily stuck to his horses and that is why, even today Inglevale has no diesel machinery, just true horse power.

Genuine People & Genuine Sheep
The farm is now owned by Wilf’s son Bill and his wife Mary, and they are generous and warm hosts of the farmstay for international visitors who want to meet some genuine Aussie characters. Whilst on the farm sheep handing with horse and dogs is demonstrated as well as sheep shearing with combs and hand blades. Wilf brings his horses and demonstrates how they plough and complete other tasks on the farm.
For most visitors to the farm though, the best part of the stay is the chance to get to know some very down-to-earth and hospitable Australian country folk. Bill & Mary and Wilf & Pat and a host of other locals, who come out on Farmstay nights to participate in the fun, join with visitors for a night of entertainment, eating and conversations. Knowledge of cultures is swapped between locals and visitors and friendships are formed.

Campfire Cooking
A  meal of lamb and beef and kangaroo is cooked on the campfire. Songs and poems are performed. Whip cracking and animal tricks are displayed. And most importantly people get to know real Aussies who have lived all their lives on the land an who love to share their way of life with those who have come around the world to find out about it.
So if you’re looking for a real life experience in Australia, get past Sydney. Come on an Aussie Farmstay and Bush Adventure and discover the Aussie spirit. For more details have a look at http://www.aussiebushadventures.com.au
