On the Sunday there was an Oktoberfest at Matso’s Brewery and a capacity crowd of tourists and Broome locals gathered for a day of drinking beer and eating schnitzels, German sausages and sauerkraut, dancing and generally having a great time. The day started at 11am and went till 9pm, with three different local bands playing. Many people were there for the whole day, but even though a lot of beer was consumed, the crowd was in good humour and there were no unpleasant incidents. Many people came in traditional German costumes. The weather was perfect – 33 degrees with a light breeze.
