David Constantine has dedicated over 40 years to the hotel industry.
David commenced his career in 1976 in the UK as an Assistant Front Office Manager with one of the world’s most recognised luxury hotel brands, Hilton. He has met countless celebrities, many Lords, Ladies and Ambassadors, and the occasional King and Prime Minister. 1977 was Queen Elizabeth’s silver jubilee year, an exciting time to be working in London.
In 1979 David was offered the opportunity to move to Australia to join the Hilton Sydney as Front Office Manager. David then joined the regional team as Regional Front Office Trainer for Hilton Australia.
In 1980 he moved to Perth as Front Office Manager and was soon promoted to Executive Assistant Manager. In 2004 this leader became Director of Business Development and in 2011 accepted the promotion to General Manager of Parmelia Hilton Perth.
David’s team says he’s fun to work with, is a good communicator, leads by example and is fair and honest. 25% of his team has worked with him for over 10 years, a testament to this GM’s leadership.
David has been on the Board of the Perth Convention Bureau since 2013.
Secretly, David loves to perform at the hotel’s team member Christmas parties and has starred as Bjorn from ABBA, impersonated Robert Palmer singing, “Addicted to Love” and had the lead role in “All that Jazz”.
In 2016 Hilton President & CEO Chris Nassetta presented David with his 40 years of service award to a standing ovation from his peers.
