After celebrating forty-five years of awarding the best West Australian wines in 2022, the Wine Show of WA continues to move ahead. The Wine Show of WA showcases all regions of Western Australian Wine.

The Wine Show Chair, John Gates, said, “the aim of the Wine Show is to celebrate the quality and diversity of wines from throughout the State. That means we need to constantly improve to keep up with the quality of the wines we are judging.”

The Wine Show judging will once again be held at Sounness Park, Mt Barker, where the light and temperature controls suit both wines and judges. The Wine Show has also recently upgraded equipment to enhance the judging environment and processes.

“We are pleased to keep the Show based in Mount Barker, the birthplace of the West Australian wine industry” he said, “but in a major change trialled last year, a formal Trophy Presentation Dinner will be held at Retravision Stadium in Albany with Silas from Pepper & Salt catering.”

“This brings a major industry event into Albany in October, and we are inviting the people and businesses of Albany and the Great Southern to join the wine industry in its celebration of our States wine quality.”

“We are very pleased to have Albany-based Live Events, led by Kahlia Ericson, contracted to manage the Wine Show and Trophy Presentation this year and look forward to an exciting future with them.” “Along with this change, the continued support of our sponsors, along with, the Shire of Plantagenet and the Mount Barker community, remain vitally important to the success of the Wine Show of WA.”
