Restaurant and catering businesses across the country are concerned that a Fair Work Commission award rate increase of over 5% could potentially force venues to cut back on staff and re-introduce barcode menus.

The coronavirus pandemic introduced the widespread use of QR code menus and services, but it is likely to stick around as factors like inflation, rise in food and commodity prices, wage increases, and staff shortages, force the hand of business owners to focus on cutting costs wherever they can.
