Whicher Ridge Winery is a fairly new edition to the Margaret River wine region, but after several years of researching and refining their vineyard, it appears they’re already making a name for themself. Their 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was recently served at an RIRDC Awards Dinner held at Parliament House in Canberra. Based on the French wines from the Graves Region near Bordeaux, this wine is soft, refined, elegant and full of  intense fruit flavours. It would marry well with any meal.
The 2008 Shiraz is made from fruit in the Great Southern’s ‘Frankland River Region’. It  is a complex mix of powerful flavours including blueberry, chocolate and mocha, complemented by soft tannins. Blended and bottled mid last year, this shiraz is guaranteed to cellar well for another eight to ten years.
