WA Signature Dish – and the winner is…

Buy West Eat Best’s inaugural WA’s Signature Dish competition was open to amateurs who love food and cooking, and not to professional chefs. To be in the running to win WA’s Signature Dish, contestants needed to submit their original recipes online and then battle it out in one of four regional finals: Great Southern, Southern Forests, the Gascoyne, and Perth and Surrounds. The winner of each regional final had the chance to work with a high profile mentor chef to get ready for the Grand Finale which was held in Perth on the WA Day public holiday on Monday 2 June. And the winner? Lupin and Za’atar Crumbed Dorper Lamb Cutlets with Moroccan Roast Pumpkin and Lupin Salad from Perth & Surrounds by Rhiannon Birch, who was mentored by Chris Taylor, owner and chef at Fraser’s Restaurant, Bluewater Grill, Indiana, Botanical Café and The Old Brewery.
