Western Australia is ready to provide world class hospitality to the more than five thousand American soldiers who arrived on Sunday 26 April in Fremantle.
AHA(WA) CEO, Bradley Woods, said “US Navy vessels visiting Western Australia provide a great boost to the State’s hotels and hospitality industry as well as the WA economy.
“Visits by US Navy vessels inject the hard-earned spending money of thousands of navy personnel into West Australian accommodation properties, hotels, hospitality businesses and the retail sector.
“US Navy personnel embracing shore leave contribute millions of dollars into the economy and provide the state with potentially thousands of advocates of what we have to offer here in Western Australia.
“Personnel want to unwind, relax and enjoy themselves after months at sea and there is an enormous opportunity for Western Australia to be the destination of choice for where US sailors want to spend their time and money.
“We look forward to these personnel sharing their experiences with their friends and family and promoting Western Australia,” Mr Woods concluded.
