imageBursting with super foods that are loaded with antioxidants, protein and essential minerals. This potent blend provides sustained long lasting energy and will enhance both mental and physical performance. A daily Protein Ball is the healthy way to get more out of every day ! Here’s a delicious way to make your own protein balls that are made from completely natural ingredients and free from the processed sugars and preservatives found in many store bought versions. I love making them in individual jars so I can easily whip up a batch with ease and they look so attractive that I’m always making them for friends and special occasions because they look and taste so good ! I vary the ingredients based on what I want to create, altering the nutritional content and the flavour profile to be unique. The protein power ball mix in this photograph is currently being devoured by yours truly and our office staff when the 3.00 O’clock munchies hit and when you feel like a healthy chocolate fix to take you through the rest of the day. The balls keep in the jar in the fridge for up to 2 months and once made up they last for 2 weeks in the fridge.
To make this DIY protein ball mix you just lay the measured amount of ingredients into a 500 ml glass storage jar. I love using my lactose free Native Whey Protein, coconut, Naked Chocolat, cacao nibs, roasted hazelnuts, almonds and dates. For an extra kick I also add my Organic Superfood or Matcha. They look spectacular in the jar ! To make the protein ball recipe I simply tip the ingredients from my jar into a food processor and turn it on. Process until the mixture combines and looks a little like crumbs. I then add 2 tablespoons cold pressed coconut oil and a tablespoon of water then process again until the mix sticks together. Form into balls using a mini ice cream scoop of spoon and roll in coconut then set in the fridge or freezer for about 1 hour until set. These taste like a bounty bar and make a quick high energy portable breakfast or lunch for hard core movers and shakers. They also make a quick healthy recovery snack after exercise and are loaded with around 10 g of protein per serve.
What’s great about them:
Bursting with antioxidants + powerful super foods this purely delicious protein ball mix contains mineral rich Naked Chocolat, almond, hazelnuts, cacao nibs, coconut, dates and Pure Native WPI for long lasting energy and performance. The combination of ingredients also enhances stamina and supports the immune system, thyroid function and stabilises hormone levels during times of stress. They are also scented with Tahitian vanilla bean which helps relax the nervous system, reduce inflammation and enhance mental performance.
