Last Friday Foodbank had one of its busiest days on record, distributing more than 14 tonnes of food at our Perth Warehouse alone.
With JobSeeker reduced, JobKeeper stopped and many families facing reduced income, high rent or worse, eviction – they are expecting this to continue to rise through winter.
Even before the pandemic, empty shelves were a reality for many Western Australians. The pandemic made this a sad reality for even more families. 28% of people who needed support last year had never gone hungry before.
