WA’s well-renowned specialty coffee chain, One For the Road, has recently been taken over by East Coast company Zarraffa’s Coffee.
It’s a major expansion move for the company, which currently operates 52 traditional and drive-thru coffee outlets over East. Zarrafa’s will start by operating the five WA sites that One For the Road currently operate (Currambine, Ellenbrook, Peppermint Grove, Canning Vale and Kalgoorlie) before focusing on rebranding and expanding.
“Eventually we will seek out franchisees for the sites but our commitment is to understand the market, transition our products and services to the stores and deliver exceptional, convenient coffee to each locale,” said Zarrafa’s CEO Kenton Campbell.
One area of concern after the takeover was announced was the retention of One for Road staff. However, these fears have been assuaged by both sides, with an agreement being reached that all staff will retain their jobs during the transition and beyond.
