Challenger Institute’s Training Restaurant Tastes Success

Challenger Institute of Technology’s Quinlan’s Training Restaurant located at the Fremantle campus has won the Restaurant in a Training Institute category at the 2013 Savour Australia™ Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence – WA.
Challenger Institute hospitality and tourism program manager Leo Smith said he felt extremely privileged to win the award three years in a row.
“This award is great recognition for Challenger’s hospitality staff, and prove yet again their capabilities as an extraordinary team of professionals,” Mr Smith said.
More than 127 restaurants and caterers were recognised at the 2013 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday 19 August.

Showing the diversity of hospitality businesses throughout the region, almost 40 categories were hotly contested this year.
The Awards for Excellence is the most dependable and authoritative guide to Australia’s best restaurants and caterers, which has set the national benchmark for objectively recognising and promoting best practice.
The Awards for Excellence are judged by a team of trained judges who anonymously visit the venues to determine the winners.
Scores are based on the entire dining experience of that one judge on a specific evening.
Restaurant & Catering CEO John Hart says, “The winners should be proud that they have been judged and rigorously reviewed in one of the most objective awards systems, which looks at the entire dining experience, rather than a single food or service dimension”.
Restaurant & Catering Australia represents thousands of restaurant and catering businesses operating across Australia.
Each year about 1,500 members are reviewed in the Awards for Excellence, which is not only a great promotional and accreditation program for businesses, but also assists consumers in identifying some stand out establishments.
