Diploma of Hospitality students from Challenger Institute of Technology last week demonstrated their culinary and service skills by hosting a wonderland-themed cocktail function for more than 60 distinguished hospitality and tourism guests.
The cocktail function was held at Quinlan’s Training Restaurant where students had the opportunity to create an inventive canapé menu, consisting of an assortment of more than 20 gourmet delicacies, including an edible chocolate garden.
Challenger Institute Director Hospitality & Human Services Kerry Donovan believes the event was a great success, with industry members readily embracing the Wonderland theme.
“The students did a fantastic job of transforming Quinlan’s restaurant with tea cups, mirrors and playing cards to reflect the quirky concept that also complemented the indulgent canapé and beverage menu,” Kerry said.
Quinlan’s Training Restaurant last year claimed its third WA Tourism Gold Plate Award for dining excellence, making Challenger Institute the first training organisation in WA to win three Gold Plate Awards.
