Beaufort Street Festival – Build Your Festival

October 10th – November 9th.

The Beaufort Street Festival Arts Committee are excited to announce a unique opportunity for a limited number of lucky community members to create a part of this year’s Festival.
In conjunction with Andrew from A Good Looking Man, a five week run of woodworking workshops will commence Thursday October 10 taking place on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings in the lead up to the Festival, concluding on November 9th.
The workshops will be held at Beaufort Street Festival’s new warehouse headquarters in Leederville.
Under the tutelage of Andrew, participants will be guided through the process of constructing a wooden stool that will be used throughout the Festival.
In addition to learning useful and practical skills first hand, every participant will get to keep their stool after the conclusion of the Festival. Pretty great huh?
This workshop aims to bring together groups of experienced and first time wood workers to get their hands dirty and working creatively, as there are few things more rewarding than making stuff. In fact, we love making stuff.
The workshop is FREE to all participants with just one condition; the stools that you’ll make will be part of this year’s Beaufort Street Festival. Afterwards though, you can totally have them back to take home and sit pretty on.
You can either make your stool, take it home, sit on it and then bring it back for the Festival (where you can also sit on it) OR you can leave it with us until the Festival and then nab it and take it home the next day. This is an honour system folks!
