Madhatters on Milston, 10581 West Swan Road, Henley Brook, will host the final of the Art on the Menu series displaying artwork for all of November. Clint and Rachael have chosen Beyond Blue, an organisation working towards supporting sufferers and increasing awareness and understanding of depression and anxiety in Australia, as they have witnessed the effects of depression on those near and dear to them. Please support this cause by turning up and purchasing one of the fantastic pieces of art work on display.
A couple of years ago the team at Menu Magazine came up with an idea to have an art exhibition to celebrate the love of food and its culture. After many discussions we are finally putting this plan into action to raise some money for good causes at the same time.
The first event was held at Corner Room in South Fremantle during September. The Corner Room’s Nic Spano decided to support The Cancer Council as both owners have lost friends and family to the disease while others are still battling it.
The second event was held at Red Cray on Beaufort, 755 Beaufort Street, Mt Lawley and all the art work will remain on display for the entire month of October. The owners picked the Leukemia Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and support of patients and families living with blood cancers and disorders. This is a cause close to home and an opportunity to give back and support others, as they lost their grandfather to leukemia.
Thanks to Silkwood Winery, Matso’s Brewery and Mac’s for supplying the beverages on the opening nights at each of the exhibitions and each venue for going out of their way to host these exhibitions and supply nibbles on the opening nights. Gold coin donations would be greatly appreciated at the door. In addition, we would like to thank Housewares International for providing door prizes.
