The competition will see more than 450 restaurants throughout the nation have their steaks rated by connoisseurs who purchase a steak and glass of Pepperjack wine at one of the participating venues. The competition kicked off on July 9.

The highest scoring venue from each region will be flown to the Barossa Valley to attend the finale towards the end of October. The winning restaurant will receive $30,000 in prize money. The finalists will have their steaks rated by a judging panel, headed up by steak expert and meat entrepreneur Adam North.
Adam North is a dynamic 29 year old. He has the amount of knowledge that most industry experts aged in their 60s have due to his extensive travelling, interest and business ventures in the meat industry.
Over the last decade Adam’s award-winning business, Hopkins River Beef, has grown into one of our most respected suppliers of quality meat in Australia. Adam is a recognised beef expert, an avid industry advocate and public educator, and now a restaurateur with the recent opening of French inspired steakhouse Entrecôte in Domain Road, South Yarra.
If the most adventurous you’ve been with a steak is a fillet, then the foodie elite are ready to teach you the tricks of the trade.
