Lucky children arrive at the Claremont Showground to participate in the thrill and rush of taking a firsthand sneak peek at over 250 showbags, with the opportunity to keep one or two to take home.
After the excitement and the Perth Royal Show has closed its gates to over 320,000 guests, the showbags from the launch are donated to a charity that recognises children and families who may not have had the chance to attend the show in person.
This year, RASWA teamed up with Hawaiian to donate leftover showbags from the launch to their community partner Anglicare WA via the ‘Hawaiian Giving Box’ campaign, which sees big gold gift boxes placed at major Hawaiian shopping centres, office buildings and 16 primary schools across Perth.
The Hawaiian Giving Box was developed as a way to make it easier for the community to donate to the charities who directly help Perth people in need and make a real difference to a struggling family at this time of year.
In the lead up to Christmas, Hawaiian call on their retailers, shoppers, tenants and the community to donate non-perishable food and children’s gifts. This year, the Hawaiian Giving Boxes hold something special for some lucky children… a Perth Royal Show showbag!
Staged since 1834, the Perth Royal Show, run by The Royal Agricultural Society of WA, spends over $11M each year to bring the show to WA residents.  Crowds enjoy farming & food exhibits that provide children with free activities at Farm 2 Food, Discover Dirt and Petstock Animal Nursery to name just a few.  Visitors to the showground capture everything that encompasses Farming, Agriculture and Education… all from our WA Farmers.
If you would like to donate to the Hawaiian Giving Box campaign, donations are being accepted up until the 6th January, 2018. For more information visit www.hawaiian.com.au.
