October 15 to 24.
Lovers of fine wines and good times will be treated to 10 days of fun, food and wine at the inaugural Fine Vines Festival in the Margaret River Region.
Supported by Margaret River Wine Association, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, City of Busselton and Shire of Augusta Margaret River, it will deliver days and evenings of wine tastings, wine learnings, food matchings and much more.
Hosting venues include Fraser Gallop Estate, Marri Wood Park, Lagoon Yallingup, Cape Lodge, Mr Barvel Fine Wines, Cape Mentelle, Xanadu, Leeuwin Estate and Vasse Felix.
Plus there’s fun events such as Sip ‘n’ Cycle, a bicycle tour of Dunsborough; Open Vineyards, a self-guided tour of wineries not usually open to the public and the Pet Nat Party, a fun party atmosphere at Bungalow Social where guests can sample traditional sparkling winemaking methods.
Fine Vines Festival co-ordinators Erin Molloy and Brianna Delaporte said the 10 day spring festival would bring together a curated selection of more than 30 unique events showcasing the quality and depth of the Margaret River region’s premium wine offering.
“We’re excited to invite people to explore all aspects of the Margaret River wine region through exclusive tastings, dining experiences, master classes, garden parties and more.”
Margaret River Wine Association Chair Greg Wall said the region’s winemakers looked forward to welcoming returning visitors and those new to the popular region, which has been producing wine for the past 50 years.
“With 90 or so cellar doors across about 300 vineyards and a global reputation as the home of quality wines and hospitality and winery venues, all within a few hours south of Perth, the Margaret River wine region has something to offer everyone,” Mr Wall said.
“While cabernet sauvignon is arguably the signature Margaret River wine, the region also produces first class chardonnay, shiraz, semillon and sauvignon, plus others,” he said.
