The Great Southern Wine Region covers five subregions – with maritime influences in Albany and Denmark and more continental expressions in Frankland River, Mount Barker and Porongurup.

The region has been producing wine for over 50 years and last year produced almost 25 per cent of Western Australia’s wine grapes.

Riesling and Shiraz are the cornerstones of Great Southern winemaking, but the region also lends itself to quality production of a large range of other varieties including, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc.
