Potatodors (Ambassadors for WA’s Potato Growers) and Panorama Catering presented a Sundowner Event for Chefs on Monday 10 February. Monday being a day off for a lot of people in the hospitality industry, there was a really good turnout and I saw quite a few familiar faces in the crowd. There was a huge selection of different potato-based dishes to try out, along with a refreshing beverage or two. We learned about a new variety of potato called “Laura”, and the good old favourites – “Desiree” and “Royal Blue” – were everywhere we looked. There was potato pizza, a salad of potato, duck and bean sprouts, potato croquettes, and I particularly enjoyed the barramundi cooked by the Chef from Sweetlips. All in all, it was a very pleasant way to spend a Monday afternoon.
