Perth Royal Wine Awards Winners Announced

Screen Shot 2018-09-06 at 12.57.45 PMEvans & Tate have taken out the coveted Best Wine of the Show Trophy with their Broadway Chardonnay 2016 at the heavily contested 2018 Perth Royal Wine Awards.
Over 14,000 bottles of wine were exhibited with 60 new wineries entering the competition and Evans & Tate also taking away The Best Western Australian Wine Trophy, Best White Table Wine Trophy, Best Western Australian White Table Wine Trophy and Best Chardonnay Trophy.
WA wineries were the big winners at the Awards Presentation, with Millbrook Winery grabbing four awards for Most Successful Western Australian Exhibitor, Most Successful Exhibitor Processing Under 300 Tonnes, Exhibitor whose 5 or more entries gained the highest average points Trophy’, and their Regional Sauvignon Blanc 2018 taking out Best Sauvignon Blanc to cap it off.
Best Western Australian Dry Red Table Wine was won by Forest Hill Vineyard with their Block 9 Shiraz 2017 and WA favourite Mandoon Estate entered their Old Vine Shiraz to be awarded Best 2016 Vintage Dry Red Table Wine.
Chairman of RASWA’s Wine Committee, John Snowball was quoted as saying, “I’m extremely pleased with the overall results from this year’s competition. A vast amount of entries Australia wide were received, with Western Australian wines showcasing their depth and consistency throughout. Western Australian wineries and winemakers should be very proud of what they produce as their work is easily benchmarked against not only the best in Australia, but also internationally.”
