Minister Peter Tinley takes over the fisheries portfolio from Minister Dave Kelly, who has overseen the fisheries portfolio since 2017.
WAFIC looks forward to meeting with Minister Tinley and developing a relationship that works towards the best interest of Government and Industry, and towards our key priorities of:
- Building a united WA Seafood industry, by pursuing enduring rights of access to marine resources and property rights for the commercial entitlements, based in legislation and equity;
- Working together on key issues of policy, resource sustainability and ensuring consistent communication to enable our industry to thrive, and
- Connecting and collaborating across government, key stakeholders and community in areas of concern for the seafood industry.
