Leading wine critic James Halliday AM crowned the winners of the Halliday Wine Companion Awards 2019 at a ceremony recently at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. The winners were chosen as the very best from the latest and most definitive guide to Australian wine, the Halliday Wine Companion 2019.
Winemaker of the Year
Congratulations to Julian Langworthy, Deep Woods Estate and Fogarty Wine Group Chief Winemaker! Julian is the first winemaker from Margaret River, and only the second winemaker from Western Australia, to receive this award.
Cabernet Sauvignon Varietal Winner
Congratulations also to Cullen Wines for being the Cabernet Sauvignon Varietal Winner with the 2015 Cullen Vanya Cabernet Sauvignon (99 points).
