Kangarilla Road has kicked off 2013 with a focus on chardonnay; releasing the 2012 Organic Chardonnay, their first ‘A’ grade certified organic wine and the 2012 Adelaide Hills McLaren Vale Chardonnay.
Winemaker Kevin O’Brien was delighted to exercise his passion for organic winemaking; using organic and biodynamic certified, grower owned plots of chardonnay, sangiovese and shiraz to produce wines that reflect the land on which they are grown.
O’Brien worked in collaboration with the growers to ensure the vineyards were meticulously maintained, as favourable growing conditions in 2012 meant Chardonnay fruit from the grower owned Edgehill vineyard could be reserved solely for an organic wine for the first time.
