Perth asked for it, and HelloFresh has delivered. From today, the cook-at-home meal-kit company is now available in Western Australia, delivering to homes in Perth and surrounding areas.
Headed up by former Masterchef contestant Tom Rutledge, HelloFresh launched in 2012 and now serves close to a million meals a month to Australians across seven states and territories including NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, NT and now WA.
Rutledge explains that the Sydney-based meal-kit company has been focused on expanding into the area following ongoing requests from WA residents and its mission to take its meal-kit box concept nationwide.
“Perth is a real milestone for us in taking our service nationwide. We‘re really excited about the launch and we can’t wait to see what people think,” Rutledge said.
HelloFresh delivers quick and easy, healthy recipes with all the required ingredients including fresh protein, dairy, vegetables, and spices to households each week.
“We know Australians like to cook but the planning and shopping part can be tedious. HelloFresh is about taking away that dinnertime stress so people can focus on and spend more time with their families – rather than the logistics of preparing dinnertime meals.”
Rutledge says the meal-kit concept means people don’t need to buy unnecessary quantities of ingredients such as spices or condiments that they may not normally use.
“Our meal-kits provide a solution to cut down on food waste – we source ingredients with a purpose. We know that the average Australian household throws out around $1,036 of food per year – as a country, that’s $8 billion worth of edible food every year¹.”
HelloFresh employs a team of in-house recipe developers who create and review recipes based on customer feedback.
“Over the last five years, we’ve generated a huge amount of data. There’s no guesswork involved in our recipe development because we know what people want to eat before we even plan our menus.”
HelloFresh offers three box options including:
- Family Box, suitable for young families that feeds four or five people for four nights at $139.95 (price excludes delivery fee)
- Classic Box, feeds two to four people from $69.95 for three or five nights (price excludes delivery fee)
- Vegetarian Box for two or four people from $69.95 for three nights (price excludes delivery fee)
“We’ve worked hard to find the best Australian producers, and we’re proud to be able to bring HelloFresh meal-kits to Perth for the first time for people to try. Our continuous cold supply chain and innovative packaging has meant we can compete with the supermarkets so people actually pay less for food with our service.”
