Fremantle Winter Festival Returns

The popular Winter Festival is returning to Fremantle in June 2017. The focal point will again be the outdoor ice skating rink at the Esplanade, with other activities also happening in the surrounding area.
The Winter Garden is set to bring Western Australia an enchanting experience for the young and the young at heart. The idyllic surrounds of the Fremantle Esplanade will be transformed into a magical festival dedicated to the delights and traditional wonders of a white winter. Attractions include the return of Australia’s biggest outdoor ice rinkfalling snow, a mountainous pop-up slidecarnival rides, plus music and entertainment for all ages.
“Winter is usually associated with indoor activities, so the Winter Garden is a great opportunity for thousands of people of all ages to enjoy some outdoor entertainment in Fremantle as the season changes,” said Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt. “Freo has many unique restaurants, shops and other attractions, so we expect having the Winter Garden will also provide a welcome boost to the local economy at a time of year which is traditionally tougher for businesses. The City of Fremantle is pleased to support the event in 2015.”

The Winter Garden experience is  completely free to enter, with tickets for the ice skating rink and other activities available for purchase online.
