This is an annual fundraiser to raise awareness of Foodbank and the issue of hunger in our community with school children. They can participate by simply bringing a can of food to school during the promotion period – every can counts! It is also an affordable way for children to engage in philanthropy and is a simple activity they can take a lead role in within their classroom or school.
Last year’s appeal collected enough food to create over 4400 meals.
The official appeal takes place from 2nd to 19th June. Food can be delivered to Foodbank by the school or a parent, or Foodbank can collect it. All collections are weighed and two trophies are awarded at an assembly in term 3:
· Highest Volume Collected per Student
· Highest Volume Collected Overall
