Western Australians have cast their votes to determine the finalists of the 2021 WA’s Best Steak Sandwich Competition and unlike the recent state-wide election, the outcome was close.

Over 60 venues across the state competed for the prestigious title and today eight venues are one step closer to settling their beef by being crowned the creator of WA’s Best Steak Sandwich.

The finalists are as follows;

COUNTRY WA FINALISTS
Southerly’s Harbour View & Restaurant (Port Denison)
The Bayview Bar (Bunbury)
Settlers Tavern (Margaret River)
Kulin Community Hub

PERTH FINALISTS
Karalee on Preston
Seven Sins Perth Hills
C.Y. O’Connor Village Pub
Brewvino Bar Kitchen & Lounge

The country WA and Perth finalists will participate in a live cook-off at the AHA(WA) Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth on Tuesday 13 April 2021 and 14 April 2021 respectively.

This year, City of Perth Mayor Basil Zemplilas and 6pr’s Oliver Peterson will join an expert judging panel at the Hospitality Expo to determine who is crowned the winner of the 2021 competition.

Australian Hotels Association (WA) CEO Bradley Woods said Western Australians threw their support behind participating venues this year, with thousands of votes being cast.

“COVID-19 rudely interrupted the 2020 competition but the number of votes cast this year showed just how keen Western Australians are to support their local venues in this popular contest,” Mr Woods said.

“WA’s chefs had two years to craft and perfect their creations, with customers clearly the beneficiaries – the eight finalists have produced some outstanding results and we are in for a very tight cook-off in April.”

WA’s Best Steak Sandwich competition is proudly supported by James Squire, HiscoNFE and Tourism WA.
