Donnybrook is the home of Western Australia’s apple industry. In 1954 the first Apple Festival was devised as a promotion for the Apple & Pear industry and a showcase for the produce of the South West. Easter continues to be the ideal time for the festival, when there is an abundance of fresh produce with apples and pears remaining plentiful, and the last of summer fruits still available.
