Country of Origin Labelling to be Introduced Across Australia

Foodservice businesses will soon have to specify the origins of their seafood items on their menus. This comes after the government’s decision to introduce new rules for the hospitality industry to communicate to customers where their seafood is coming from.

Hospitality operators will have to specify whether their seafood is A (Australian), I (Imported) or M (Mixed Origin). This new model will be introduced in 2025 to allow the industry to ‘settle into’ these new requirements.
