Cinema under the stars

Margaret River Gourmet Escape, presented by Audi, will transform Happs Winery into the ultimate open-air cinema under the stars with guest chefs from the popular Netflix series, Chef’s Table.
On Saturday 19 November, international award-winning chefs and documentary talent, Ana Roš (Hiša Franko, Slovenia) and Dominique Crenn (Atelier Crenn & Petit Crenn, USA) will appear as special guests at the Netflix presents: A screening of Chef’s Table – under the stars event.
One to watch and self trained chef, Ana is one of Slovenia’s best chefs and has spent the last 16 years revolutionising her country’s food. Together with her husband and sommelier, Valter Kramer they run the family’s beautiful hotel and restaurant in a remote location in the Soca Valley, close to the border of Italy.
Recently named The World’s Best Female Chef by World’s 50 Best Restaurants, French-born Dominique Crenn runs Michelin-starred restaurants in San Francisco, both venues inspired by her childhood growing up in Brittany with her adopted parents.
The hugely talented female duo will host the movie night with a Q&A discussing their inspiration to becoming chefs, their food philosophy and the power of family and love as their main drive to pursue their dreams.
During the evening, Ana and Dominique’s episodes from season two will be aired for guests as they enjoy the region’s local produce, VIP picnic hampers and glass or two of Happs’ diverse and distinctive wines.
Since its release in 2015, Chef’s Table delves into the lives and travels of some of the world’s awe-inspiring chefs, elevating the viewer’s interest through a selection of visually stunning episodes. Created by filmmaker, David Gelb, this culinary documentary series exposes motivations, challenges, success stories and failures by some of the most celebrated chefs across the globe.
Set amongst the vineyards within Happs Winery, guests will be able to sit back and enjoy this not to be missed culinary entertainment experience with a selection of the winery’s diverse and distinctive wines and a specially packed picnic. Guests can purchase general or VIP tickets to the evening online. VIP tickets include a food and wine package. VIP picnic packs will include a selection of treats from the region’s finest producers including Yallingup Woodfired Bread, Yallingup Cheese Company cheese, Olio Bello olives, Mammone Family Market Garden produce and Margaret River Nuts + Cereals. General Admission ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase a selection of snacks and wines to enjoy during the screenings.
