Come Back Again and Again
The old Clancy’s in Dunsborough was synonymous with beer, so it made sense that it would one day become a brewery. Bailey Brewing Co. in the Swan Valley has been a huge success serving hundreds of customers every weekend. In 2024, they opened up in Dunsborough hoping to duplicate the same thing. It is not as big a venue as Swan Valley, but it does have a similar vibe.
Founded by a father and his two sons, with a passion for great beer and bringing people together, Bailey Brewing Co. Dunsborough was born from the iconic Swan Valley backyard that quickly became known for award-winning brews, relaxed hospitality and unforgettable experiences. Today, Bailey Brewing Co. brings that same welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere to Dunsborough.
At the heart of the venue is a commitment to quality, from carefully crafted award-winning beers poured fresh on tap, to a food menu designed to be enjoyed with family and friends. They proudly support local suppliers and showcase fresh local produce wherever possible, creating dishes with a laid-back, modern pub feel, and a touch of the Southwest.
For those who want a kick with their mussels – the Chilli Mussels were WOW. They were delicious, with just enough chilli which blended with the sweetness of the mussels and a really generous serve presented in a black bowl labelled South Australian Mussels.
Next up, the BBQ Pork Ribs was an amazing blend of sweet and sour, with cumin and onion crunch in a tasty glaze, and the pork was falling off the bone. The Pale Ale was a good match with the dish, as its malty flavours acted as a palate cleanser and softened the bite of the spices.
Having tried a lot of Steak Sandwiches over the past few years, I had to try theirs. Served with a side of crunchy chips, the steak was juicy and tender, with a smokey flavoured barbecue sauce and perfect with a glass of Red Ale with perfectly balanced hoppy flavours and aromas.
For the seafood lovers, the Oven Baked Goldband Snapper is worth enjoying. The dish was like a painting; very artistically presented on a bed of pearl couscous, sun-dried tomatoes and pumpkin and spinach salsa. The fish was moist, and the base was creamy and moorish. The 2024 Domain Naturaliste Floris Chardonnay really highlighted the citrus tones of this dish.
On any day, you cannot go past the Moroccan Roast Chicken with green beans, puy lentils and yoghurt dressing. Being a diehard chicken lover, the Moroccan flavour was perfect and the chicken was moist and tender.
We finished the meal with a rich Chocolate Fondant which was served with vanilla ice-cream and berry compote – a perfect end to a perfect meal.
Overall, this is a very exciting new and inviting venue. The service was exceptional with Malcolm looking after us. It has a great outdoor area which also caters to children and there is an open fire inside for those chilly months.
Whether you are enjoying a long lunch in the beer garden, sampling a tasting paddle, watching the children enjoy the playground, or relaxing with your dog by your side, Bailey Brewing Co. Dunsborough is all about good beer, great food and uncomplicated moments shared together. It is where award-winning beer, local flavours and family come together.
