3drops has taken home yet another award at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show. After winning trophies at the Sheraton Wine Awards, the Perth Royal Wine Show and the Canberra International Riesling Competition last year, winning yet another award was the icing on a very impressive cake for the prestigious winery.
3drops 2011 Riesling won the Spotless Trophy for the Best Aromatic White Wine at the Melbourne RACV Club on Thursday evening.
This prestigious award marked the talents of 3drops viticulturist, Ray Williams and winemaker Rob Diletti.
The 3drops 2011 Riesling is fine and delicate with zesty lime notes as well as floral and orange blossom characters. Not only do the different flavours create a distinctive aroma, the wine is defined by its delicate structure. The natural acidity gives structure, length and balance to the palate. The finish is subtle and fine, but very long with flavours still remaining long after the wine is gone.
The 3drops 2011 Riesling matches wonderfully with seafood and if kept in the cellar for at least 10 years, can create fantastic aged characteristics.
This wine is limited so make sure you head to your local wine store or order online here.
