Liberal Party’s Crawley Branch Function

Not sure why but I keep bumping into past and present politicians lately. I met up with Elizabeth Constable at the Japan Tourism sundowner a month ago, Dr Kim Hames at a Cystic Fibrosis function and it was only a week ago that I found myself having a beer with Richard Court at the Sail & Anchor. So when I was invited to a function for the Crawley Branch of the Liberal Party, I thought it would be a good chance to catch up with some W.A politics’ heavyweights.
This is not the type of event that I normally go to but I did. It was interesting to mingle with the likes of the Hon Julie Bishop MP (who is the Deputy Leader of the Federal Opposition, the Federal Member for Curtin, the Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Shadow Minister for Trade) along with other State MP’s and existing Crawley Branch members. To hear their thoughts on the future direction of the party in Australia & Western Australia was rather interesting.
I guess it is a chance to meet these people face to face and work out what type of people they are rather than what the media do or do not tell us. I must say that I prefer to hear politicians talk positively rather than negatively. At the end of the night some won me over while others lost me.
On a brighter note, Albasio Le Pagna from Bellissimo supplied the food and as you would expect, it was fantastic see.
